Re-assembly

•

Re-assemble the parts in the order shown in parts drawing

Inspection and maintenance

•

Damaged parts (twisted, cut, worn, broken etc) must be

replaced before the hoist can be used again

•

Follow the dismantling procedures Check for damage to the

chain, hook, end ring, bolts etc Check for damage on the

handle, brake cover, handle-ratchet, brake discs and brake

pawl

•

When dismantling the hand wheel and ratchet unit, check

the gear, drive axle, chain guide, side plates and upper

hook

•

Always clean all parts carefully with cleaning oil or a similar

cleaner before the hoist is re-assembled Smear moving

parts with grease

•

The cogs on the centerline of the two marks on cogwheel

LV-207 should be aligned with LV-220 in the inward/inner

position on 08 hoist, in the inner/outer position on the 32 ton

hoist and in the neutral position on the 16 ton hoist

•

Gently wipe both brake discs and friction surfaces that come

into contact with the washers using a dry cloth/rag The

brake discs and friction surfaces must be oil-free and not be

greased!

•

The brakes are adjusted by setting the hoist in the neutral

position The brakes are engaged by setting the UP/DOWN

selector in the middle position and pulling hard on the chain

on the side of the hook The handle is set so the lifting

cog marked with a square is standing just above the gear

marked with a square

When maintenance is done on the hoist it must be approved by

an expert agency in accordance with national regulations

PERIODIC INSPECTION

•

Annual periodic checks are required The inspection must

be done in accordance with the manufacturer's maintenance

list Of particular importance is verifying that brake coatings

are within tolerance limits set by the manufacturer (See the

maintenance table)

WEAR THAT CAN CAUSE RISKS

•

The hoist is equipped with a precisely calibrated chain,

Grade T (8)  Wear on a chain that stretches the links is

not permitted because this can cause the chain to «climb»

on the chain wheel and get stuck This is a personnel risk

because the load cannot be lowered properly

•

The chain may only be replaced with a similar precisely

calibrated Grade T chain One must never use a chain used

on electric hoists (type DT or DAT, ref standard EN-818-7)

because these may not be used on manual hoists due to

their differing properties - thus leading to a risk of injury

•

Hooks must not have larger openings than the maximum

limits stated in the technical data table

TRAINING IN USE

•

The users must read the manufacturer's instruction manual

before they are allowed to use the hoist

•

There are no special qualifications for using a hoist besides

reading and understanding the instruction/user manual

•

One prerequisite for the users of such hoists is having

undergone an introductory course or training in the use of

lifting tools and that equipment is used in accordance with

national regulations and the manufacturer's instructions

CRITERIA FOR DISCARDING CHAINS/
HOOKS/BOLTS/BRAKE DISCS ETC.

Wear expansion max. 2% on 5 chain links:

Chain dimension:

Total inner length

4 mm

60 mm + 12 mm

5 mm

75 mm + 15 mm

63 mm

945 mm + 189 mm

71 mm

1065 mm + 213 mm

8 mm

120 mm + 24 mm

9 mm

135 mm + 27 mm

Corrosion that could influence chain properties is not permitted.

Brake discs

Brake discs for all tonnage rating must be of even thickness

when inspected

Minimum thickness for all tonnage ratings = 2 mm

Tolerance on suspension

bolts/holes for top and bottom hooks

No wear is permitted on the bolts for the top hook/bottom hook

Production tolerances: 0.05 mm in relation to nominal dim.

(new bolt)

The bolt holes must not

have any sign of wear/oval shape

Production tolerances: + 02 mm

Hooks

Lasting deformations/expansion to hook openings is not

permitted in relation to the nominal dim.

Nominal dimensions:

Tonnage:

Dim. opening, in mm:

075/080 t

27 mm

100 t

30 mm

150/160 t

34 mm

300/320 t

43 mm

600/630 t

47 mm

Nominal dim should be checked and logged for each hoist

before use
Please Note! Deformations will not occur on hoists with

overload limiters if they are used correctly.
