Save settings to PC /
Load setting from PC
In addition to backing up the configuration settings in SmartDisc 02 's flash
memory, you can also back them up to the receiver PC using the
SmartControl software and then re-load them to your SmartDisc 02 if
necessary. You will find the options for saving and loading device settings
under Recorder settings/Upload / Download .
Furthermore, you can transfer backed-up device settings to other
SmartDisc 02 devices. These other devices must have the same number of
camera inputs and the same firmware version.
Operation without
hard disk
SmartDisc 02 can be operated without hard disk if the corresponding
feature "Use without hard disk drive" has been activated with SmartControl
or SmartControl PRO software. In this operating mode SmartDisc 02 offers
all features, except video recording. Essentially these are the following
features:

Digital transmission of live images by IP and/or dialup connection
■ Remote configuration and maintenance by IP and/or dialup connection
■
Alarm management - control inputs, motion detection - for automatic
dialup
■
System and video signal monitoring
■
Camera and relay control
■
Analog video output with switch function
■
Audio transmission
All hard disk functions, such as cyclical reset, alarm on hard disk error,
activation of LED Error or the error relay, and clock error display will be
deactivated. This operating mode is available only if the device does not
detect any hard disk (and therefore no hard disk in the device).
If SmartDisc 02 detects a functional hard disk after start up with option Use
without hard disk drive activated, the option will be ignored and the hard
disk will be used. If the hard disk fails during operation, all hard disk related
errors will be read out until the next reset.
