Phantom Ultrahigh-speed cameras Manual

The CineStation is available with a 1Gb and 10Gb Ethernet
port. The 1Gb network works with the same settings
needed for a Phantom camera:

Network IP 100.100.100.1
Subnet: 255.255.0.0
Ensure no firewalls or virus protection is enabled

To use the CineStation with a 10G connection, connect
a CAT 6A (or greater) cable from the 10Gb Ethernet port
on the CineStation to an approved 10Gb NIC (Network
Interface Card) in the host computer, and use the following
network settings:

10G Network IP: 172.16.0.1
Subnet: 255.255.0.0

The Phantom software will automatically detect the IP
address of the CineStation. If you need to manually con-
nect to the CineStation, its IP address is printed on
the side of the device, label XIP.

At the time of this writing, Vision Research has verified two
models of 10G PCI Express cards with Windows 7 and 8:

Intel X520-T2
Atto FastFrame NT12

Once the NIC is installed in the PC, ensure the latest driver
is installed from the manufacturer’s website. Generally,
the computer and all devices must be re-booted after the
driver installation.

Next, install the latest version of Winpcap, a windows
utility. This is required for PCC software version 2.5 when
downloading via 10G Ethernet. Winpcap is included in the
Phantom control software installation package, or from

www.winpcap.org

For optimum results, ensure there are no bottlenecks
in the system - a striped RAID is recommended for the
fastest save speeds.
