TARGET
HR
Target HR is a higher intensity workout for more fit users
emphasizing cardiovascular benefits. The user must wear
a heart rate chest strap, or keeps hands on the contact
heart rate grips continuously. The program adjusts the
intensity level based on the actual heart rate to maintain the
rate at 80 percent of theoretical maximum.

FITNESS TEST
Vision Treadmills offer the Gerkin Fitness Test. The Gerkin
firefighter protocol was developed by Dr. Richard Gerkin of
the Phoenix (Arizona) Fire Department. It is a sub-maximal
graded treadmill evaluation used by many fire departments
across the US to assess the physical condition of the
firefighters. The test requires constant monitoring of the
user's heart rate so the use of a telemetric chest strap is
highly encouraged.
