WARNING, when the device is placed on his recharging base, it set itself in pause
and charging mode. To take a temperature ( BODY , ROOM or SURFACE TEMP ) re-
move the ThermoFlash® from it base.
VII. CHARGING THE BATTERY
Before using the ThermoFlash® PRO LX-261 EVOLUTION for the first time, charge
the battery for at least 3 hours.
Internal battery
3.7V Li-ion battery - Rechargeable battery that can be used regularly.
Recharging base station
Input : Voltage AC 100~240V - 50 ~ 60Hz - Output : DC 6.0V 400mA - Power cable
VDE 2 plug.
In order to charge your ThermoFlash® and for reasons of safety, place the device
on the recharging base station.
Charge indicator light
When the
ThermoFlash®
battery needs charging, the
symbol will be dis-
played on the screen.
You may continue to use the ThermoFlash® which will emit 5 continuous beeps
and will switch off automatically once the battery is completely flat.
When the ThermoFlash® is placed onto the recharging base station, the LED in-
dicator will be blue during charging. Once the
ThermoFlash®
battery has been
completely recharged, the LED will be green and power to the recharging base
station will be automatically switched off to avoid overload and prolong the life
of the battery.
Recharge battery every half year when the device is not used for a long period
of time.
VIII. STARTING UP YOUR THERMOFLASH® PRO LX-261 EVOLUTION
1. Connect the mains adaptor to the recharging base station.
2. Before using the THERMOFLASH® PRO LX-261 EVOLUTION for the first time,
charge the battery for at least 3 hours. During charging the device will display the
room temperature.
3. Press the button MODE to select your temperature measurement mode.
4. Aim at the right forehead (temple) (SEE SCHEMA A
PAGE 2) from distance of 2-5
cm (2 in), press the measurement button. The temperature is instantly displayed.
The temperature can also be taken behind the ear lobe.
5. Before taking any temperature, make sure to remove hair and perspiration from
the right forehead (temple).
The reliability of the measurement cannot be guaranteed if the tempera-
ture is measured over another part of the body (e.g. arm, torso…).
IX. SETTINGS
1. Choosing the temperature mode
The THERMOFLASH® PRO LX-261 EVOLUTION is specially designed to measure body
temperature without contact, of children or adults. For this, use the BODY mode.
Measurement range for BODY mode : 32°C – 42.9°C (90°F – 109°F).
Note : You can also use the THERMOFLASH® PRO LX-261 EVOLUTION to measure the
temperature of an area or an object, food, or a liquid. For this, use the SURFACE TEMP
mode.
Measurement range for SURFACE TEMP mode : 0°C – 60°C (32°F - 140°F).
By selecting the ROOM Mode, it will display the ambient temperature of the room
you are in.
Press the MODE button for one second, the screen will display : BODY for the body
measurement temperature. Press the MODE button again to switch to SURFACE
TEMP or ROOM mode.
Note : The THERMOFLASH® PRO LX-261 EVOLUTION is automatically set to BODY.
Important : The surface temperature differs from the internal body temperature.
To obtain the internal temperature, always use the BODY mode. Please make sure
to select the BODY mode for an internal temperature reading and the SURFACE
TEMP mode or the ROOM mode for an external area reading (bottle, bath, room…).
2. Choosing the temperature unit
Press the °C/°F button to select the temperature unit. The symbol of the chosen
temperature unit is displayed ( °C for Celsius degrees and °F for Fahrenheit degrees).
3. Data memory
To display the last temperature measurement, press the MEM button.
You will obtain the last temperature measurement. To switch on the last measure-
ment, press the °C/°F button.
The number indicated in interval of two measures corresponds to the number of
measurements.
Press on the button MODE for review of the previous measurements.
To exit data memory, press the measure key. The THERMOFLASH® PRO LX-261
EVOLUTION switches off after 5 seconds.
4. Alarm setup
The alarm threshold default value is 38°C (100.4°F). It cannot be changed. In case of
higher temperatures than 38°C, a signal beeps while measuring the temperature.
