b) Power supply
The power supply is 220 V~ input from the mains and
27 VDC as output on the busbar. The battery on the
lift is at 24 VDC. All power and auxiliary circuits are
supplied at 24 VDC.
c) Controls
All controls are of hold-to-run type
(the lift stops as soon as the finger is removed from
the button).
All the control panels (on the lift and at the floors) are
enabled by a removable key (no-one can use the lift
unless the key is inserted).
WARNING: Do not use the lift if the controls are
no longer operating on the hold-to-run principle.
d) Operation by hand
The lift can always be operated by hand to bring the
passenger to the floor in the event of a system failure
or power blackout.
e) Non-reversible drive
The spiral worm reduction gear ensures that the lift
cannot descend under its own weight, and ensures a
smooth stop.
f) Motor brake
The electric brake fitted on the motor ensures quick,
stable stopping.
g)
Emergency stop button
The lift is fitted with a red emergency STOP but-
ton (Fig. 2/e) which cuts out all lift movement when
pressed.
To restore operation of the lift, turn the emergency but-
ton 45° clockwise.
WARNING: Check operation of the emergency
STOP button every month. If the STOP button does
not cut out all lift movements, DO NOT USE the lift !!
Call in an authorised VIMEC technician at once.
WARNING: If the lift is to be out of use for
a long time or the power supply is disconnected,
turn the key (Fig. 18/a) to OFF so that the batteries
do not discharge.
WARNING: If the stairlift is not used for a
long pe
riod of time, connect the power supply to
the mains for at least 12 hours every 2 or 3 months
to keep the batteries charged.
9) MAINTENANCE
Although the stairlift has of course undergone rigorous
testing, it still requires regular technical inspections in
order to guarantee that it continues to operate at top
efficiency and safety. Our specialist technicians will
carefully perform all the operations described below.
9.1) Precautions for long periods of disuse:
If the stairlift is to be left unused for a long time, switch
on the power supply to charge its batteries at least once
every 2 - 3 months.
WARNING: In all circumstances, only call in
authorised VIMEC after-sales staff for service and
repairs; use only genuine spare parts.
WARNING: Maintenance frequencies must be
complied with.
