VANGUARD LIFEJACKET (PV9380)
9. Fold the outer section on the right side like
a fan so that the release unit is on top. Pass
the release line and handle through the
bottom in the cover. IMPORTANT: Make sure
that the release line and handle are free-
hanging and visible outside the protective
cover.
10. Close zipper. Close the hook and loop
fastener. Check that the release units are
visible in the windows.
11. Push zipper ends inside the cover, close the
press studs to keep zipper ends in place.
12. Place the release lines underneath the flaps.
13. Place the release handles in the holders.
4.3B PACKING OF LIFEJACKET WITH HAMMAR ®
INFLATOR
1. Place the lifejacket on a table. Unzip
protective cover.
2. Fold up the bottom section on the right side
of the buoyancy chamber. It must have the
same length as the cover. Fold the inner side
backwards.
3. Fold the corner towards the back.
4. Fold the outer section on the right side
towards the back so that the release
unit is on top. Pass the release line and
handle through the bottom of the cover.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that the release line
and handle are free-hanging and visible
outside the protective cover.
5. Zip the cover – starting at the bottom at the
left side – and zip up 20 cm. Close the hook
and loop fastener.
6. If the lifejacket is equipped with a
sprayhood, fold the sprayhood three times.
Fold the neck like a fan with the welding
visible. Place the sprayhood into the neck
folds. Make sure that the welding of the
neck part is still visible.
7. Close zipper about 35 cm. Fold sprayhood
carefully, especially at the rounding so it will
lay as smooth as possible.
8. Fold the sprayhood corner at the right side
backwards and close the zipper 35 cm from
the center back neckline. The sprayhood and
buoyancy chamber must lay as smooth as
possible.
9. Fold up the bottom section on the left side
of the buoyancy chamber. It must have the
same length as the cover.
10. Fold the inner section on the right side
towards the middle.
11. Fold the outer section on the right side
towards the middle. The release unit
must be on top. Pass the release line and
handle through the bottom of the cover.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that the release line
and handle are free-hanging and visible
outside the protective cover.
12. Close zipper. Close the hook and loop
fastener. Check that the release units are
visible in the windows.
13. Push zipper ends inside the cover, close the
press studs to keep zipper ends in place.
14. Place the release lines underneath the flaps.
15. Place the release handles in the holders.
4.4 REPLACING THE CO2-CYLINDER AND BOBBIN

After use in freshwater dry the lifejacket. If the
lifejacket has been used in saltwater, it must be
rinsed with fresh water and then dried. Remove
any air in the lifejacket using the oral inflation
valve.
DISASSEMBLY
Please see figure 1 and 2 on pages 38
and 39
Step 1:
Unpack or open the lifejacket so that the
inflator is visible. Open the protective neoprene
cover. Slide the cylinder holder and O-ring
(figure 2) down so it is not holding on to the
manifold nut. Unscrew the cylinder from the
inflator.
Step 2:
Remove gas CO2 cylinder by rotating cylinder
counter-clockwise and removing the cylinder
from holder and O-ring. Discard cylinder.
Step 3:
Remove cap by turning counter-clockwise.
Step 4:
Remove the bobbin from the cap or housing
unit. Discard bobbin (yellow). Check the housing
to be sure it is clear and dry.
Note: The bobbin (yellow) body may remain
in the housing or in the cap assembly when
you remove the cap. The bobbin body must be
removed before rearming.
