H. After installation and testing and repairing of all leaks, remove the protective shields from the sprinklers. To remove
the shield, simply pull the ends of the shield apart where it is snapped together. THE SHIELDS MUST BE REMOVED
FROM SPRINKLERS BEFORE PLACING THE SYSTEM IN SERVICE!
I. If it is necessary to remove the entire sprinkler unit, the system must be taken out of service. See section 6. INSPECTIONS,
TESTS, AND MAINTENANCE and follow all warnings and instructions.
5. OPERATION
During fire conditions, the heat-sensitive liquid in the glass bulb expands, causing the glass to shatter, releasing the pip cap and
sealing spring assembly. Water flowing through the sprinkler orifice strikes the sprinkler deflector, forming a uniform spray pattern
to extinguish or control the fire.
