5.3.6

Emergency stop procedure

Refer also to your ATV manual for instructions. Read and understand how to quickly stop the
vehicle and the mower movement in an emergency.

5.3.7

General Operating Warnings:

W A R N I N G S !

Read and understand all instructions in this manual before operating.

Do not allow the vehicle engine or Flail mower to bog down or stall. This
causes undue wear and tear on the mower and vehicle.
If this continues to happen, reduce ground speed and raise the working
depth of the Flail mower.

Always stop the engine before removing objects from the rotor shaft.

Never travel at a fast ground speed while using the mower; this could
damage the mower.

5.3.8

Preparation

Ensure that you understand all Safety rules and Warnings in this manual and the vehicle

’s

manual.

Ensure you understand all safety decals on the vehicle and the flail mower.

Adhere to PPE safety regulations as described in both manuals.

PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO LOUD NOISE MAY CAUSE PERMANENT HEARING LOSS!
Vehicles with or without mowers attached can often be noisy enough to cause permanent,
partial hearing loss. We recommend that you wear hearing protection full-time if the noise in

the operator’s position exceeds 80 dB. Noise over 80 dB on a long

-term basis can cause severe

hearing loss. Noise over 90 dB adjacent to the operator over a long-term basis may cause
permanent total hearing loss.

W A R N I N G !

Hearing loss from loud noise (from lawn tractors, chain saws, radios, and
other sources close to the ear) is cumulative over a lifetime without
hope of natural recovery.

5.3.9

Hooking the mower to a vehicle

Ensure the Flail mower rests on solid level ground.

Adjust the desired angle of the drawbar for the mowing job.

Adjust the working depth.

Adjust the rear roller height.

Move the vehicle in position and fit the mower to the 2” hook.

Connect the remote throttle regulator to your ATV.
