Introduction
The information in this manual covers the installation, operation, configuration and maintenance of the SVFT-
MSH Maximum Security Housing. This unit should only be installed by a qualified technician using approved
materials in accordance with national, state and local wiring codes. Read this manual through completely
before attempting installation.
Vicon’s SVFT-MSH offers a rugged, tamperproof and IP65 rated enclosure for the SurveyorVFT Camera
Dome. The SVFT-MSH is sold in thirteen (13) prepackaged configurations with choices in camera type. All
versions use the same firmware for programming and operation. For setup and operational information, refer
to the SurveyorVFT Programming Manual XX134-4X. In addition, refer to the SurveyorVFT Installation
Manual XX134-0X for complete configuration and operation information. This housing can be ceiling or wall
mounted with the appropriate mount. A clear Acrylic Lower Dome is included. Options for this housing are
Mounts and Power Supplies as listed in Table 3. Refer to Table 2 for complete product descriptions.
SVFT-MSH Maximum Security Housing Components
The SVFT-MSH consists of a thick steel enclosure, a sealed Lower Dome assembly, and mounting studs for
the SurveyorVFT Camera Drive. In addition, the housing provides outside holes for external mounting
brackets and tamperproof hardware for Lower Dome removal.
Unpacking and Inspection
All Vicon equipment is tested and inspected before leaving the factory. It is the carrier’s responsibility to
provide suitable delivery. Inspect the cartons upon delivery and, if damage is present, make detailed notes on
the carrier’s bill. Obtain the carrier agent’s signature and file a damage claim as soon as possible.
Open the cartons and inspect the equipment for damage. Save the cartons and packing material. If damage is
present, contact the carrier and file a damage claim immediately. If the equipment must be returned to Vicon
for repair, follow the instructions in the Shipping Information section of this manual.
Accessory Kit
There is one (1) kit included with all configurations of the SVFT-MSH. It provides the necessary hardware to
assist in assembling and wiring the SVFT-MSH. The screws and washers are spares for the Lower Dome.
