Cable Connections
Power, video, alarm, audio and IP connections are made to the printed circuit board (PC board). Refer to
Figure 5 when performing these connections. Refer to the Cable Recommendations in the Reference section.
The V910 PoE models provide support for direct network connection to Kollector Elite Digital Video
Recorders and ViconNet Workstations via ViconNet version 4 software
. The PC board allows direct plug-in to
a system network hub, switch or router. Video from the camera is available to all network recorders and
workstations for live view and recording. Video is digitized and made available through the LAN connection.
An RJ-45 connector (J7) is provided on the board for connection to the LAN with a CAT5 cable. This
connection is also used for power (PoE). Refer to Figure 5 and the Table for connections on the ViconNet
board.
Alarm input signals are carried on individually-shielded twisted-pair cable sets. There is a 3-pin alarm
connector (P1) on the PC board. Refer to the Twisted-Pair Cable Recommendations in the Reference
section.
Alarm inputs are driven by a dry contact type switch. These signals are connected to terminal block P1. For
example, a door switch can activate an alarm when connected to an alarm input. As a guideline (under
normal conditions), the cable should be 22 AWG for a 1000 foot (305 m) distance.
Additionally, there are two jacks provided for audio, J3 (MIC) for Audio IN and J6 (SPK) for Audio OUT. At this
time, J6 is not available.
Connector P2 is a video out connection for the video focus adjustment cable to connect to a portable/local
monitor. There is an alternate connector on the camera PC board (day/night and color) or joystick control
(WDR). Refer to Figures 7 and 9, respectively. Either connector can be used. The cable assembly is provided
in the accessory kit for connection.
