cause flame to burn poorly and may cause
sooting.

chunks on top of the burner. this may cause
potential sooting, glass breakage and a fire

1. Before starting, make sure the grate is hooked onto
the rear bracket.
. Sprinkle lava rocks around and in front of burner at
bottom of firebox.
3. Pull the rock wool apart into dime-sized pieces or
smaller. Distribute one thin layer of rock wool over front
ports and carryover ports. Do not cover slots (400) or
large holes (300) at rear of burner.

4. Place the logs on the burner. Refer to Steps 4-10 . Light
the unit and after 15 minutes check burner flame and
glow. Adjust embers as necessary to achieve an even
and clean flame.
5. Place Rear Log #1 into place by setting the log over
the two pins on the grate toward the back. The two
round holes on the bottom of the logs should go over
the two pins on the grate.
