BC1000XL Brush Chipper Maintenance

Step 1:

Unlatch and raise engine hood.

Step 2:

Remove four bolts (1) and panel (2).

Step 3:

Remove the two bolts (3) from the hold-down bracket (4) and remove
bracket.

Step 4:

Remove negative (-) cable (5) first. Then remove positive (+) cable (6).

Step 5:

Lift battery out of compartment.

Step 6:

Install new battery.

Step 7:

Apply a light coating of petroleum jelly around base of each terminal.

Step 8:

Install hold-down bracket (4) and secure with the two bolts (3).

Step 9:

Install positive (+) cable (6) first. Then install the negative (-) cable (5) and tighten.
Check that the red cap over the positive cable clamp is properly installed.

Step 10:

Install panel and four bolts.

Step 11:

Close engine hood and latch.
