Dimensional requirements, side rails
If the bed is equipped with side rails, these must be removed
before mounting VENDLET Basic. VENDLET Basic has been
tested and approved to function as side rails in accordance
with the requirements of EN 60601-2-52:2010.
When mounting VENDLET Basic you should take the follow-
ing dimensions into account:
Incompatable mattresses can cause risk of en-
trapment.
A:
A distance of 2.5 – 4 cm (A) is required between the mattress
and the side rail on both sides of the mattress. Likewise, it
is important that the mattress guides are suitable for the
mattress and will hold the mattress in place.
Use up to two 15 mm spacers if necessary to pull the mount-
ing bracket away from the bed frame.
B:
In order to meet the side rail requirements, the upper edge
of the bars must be mounted at least 22 cm (B) above the
mattress surface.
C:
The lower part of the side rail must always be at least 12 cm
(C) above the ground.
D:
The length must be adjusted in order to ensure that the gap
between the board and VENDLET Basic is less than 0,8 cm or
more than 2,5 cm (D). However, the gap must not exceed 6
cm.
VENDLET Basic is telescopic in length and can be extended
from 201 cm to 221 cm.
