5 . 1 O verview
VEGABAR can be adjusted with the following adjustment media :
l
the indicating and adjustment module PLICSCOM
l
an adjustment software acc . to FDT / DTM standard , e . g .
PACT ware ™ and PC
and , depending on the signal output , also with :
l
a HART handheld ( 4 … 20 m A / HART )
l
the adjustment program AMS ( 4 … 20 m A / HART and F oun -
dation F ieldbus )
l
the adjustment program PDM ( P ro fi bus PA )
l
a con fi guration tool ( F oundation F ieldbus )
T he entered parameters are generally saved in VEGABAR , op -
tionally also in PLICSCOM or in the adjustment program .

VEGABAR meet NAMUR recommendation NE 53 . VEGA instru -
ments are generally upward and downward compatible :
l
sensor software for DTM - VEGABAR HART , PA or FF
l
DTM VEGABAR for adjustment software PACT ware ™
l
adjustment module PLICSCOM for sensor software
T he parameter adjustment of the basic sensor functions is inde -
pendent of the software version . T he range of available functions
dependson the respective software version of the individualcom -
ponents .
5 . 3 A djustment with the indicating and adjust -
ment module PLICSCOM
S etup and indication
PLICSCOM is a pluggable indication and adjustment module for
plics
®
sensors . I t can be placed in four di ff erent positions on the
instrument ( each displaced by 90 ° ). I ndication and adjustment
are made via four keys and a clear , graphic - capable dot matrix
indication . T he adjustment menu with language selection is
clearly structured and enables easy setup . A fter setup ,
PLICSCOM serves as indicating instrument : throughthe screwed
cover with glass insert , measured values can be read directly in
the requested unit and presentation .
D epending on the hardware version of PLICSCOM or the respec -
tive sensor electronics , an integrated backlight can be switched
on via the adjustment menu . 2 )

5 . 4 A djustment with PACT ware ™
PACT ware ™ / DTM
I ndependent of the respective signal output , whether 4 … 20 m A /
HART , P ro fi bus PA or F oundation F ieldbus , VEGABAR sensors
can be adjusted directly on the instrument via PACT ware ™ . T o
adjust with PACT ware ™ , an instrument driver for the particular
VEGABAR model is required .
A ll currently available VEGA DTM s are provided in a DTM C ol -
lection with the current PACT ware ™ version on CD . T hey are
available from the responsible VEGA agency for a token fee .
T he basic version of this DTM C ollection incl . PACT ware ™ is
available as a free - of - charge download from the I nternet .
T o use the entire range of functions of the DTM incl . project doc -
umentation , a DTM licence is required for the particular instru -
ment family , e . g . VEGABAR . T his licence can be bought from the
responsible VEGA agency .
