8.0 Setting Monitoring Parameters

Before the RTU can be used to monitor fibers, the monitoring parameters must be set. Although

the test parameters do not need to be setup in any particular order, we do recommend the

following sequence:

1. Set RTU name and time (if needed). For more details, see

10.0 RTU Menu (About,

Name and Date/Time)

2. Define the OTAU port to be used (if needed). For more details, see

11.0 OTAU Menu

3. Select the RTU-4100 hardware for measurement. For remote control, use VeSion

Monitoring System to connect to the RTU (usually RealTime or Manual mode). Use this

menu to connect to other external third-party software, also. For more details, see

4. If the RTU will be accessed also from Fiberizer Desktop, set the integration with

Fiberizer Desktop. For more details, see
