6.3.1 Using WaveID
When paired with a compatible VeEX light source, the optical signal employs a proprietary
WaveID which sets the OPM to the correct wavelength calibration setting. When
[ AUTO]
is set,
the FX80/FX81 optional BB-OPM determines the wavelength automatically.

Using FX86:
•
Check if the wavelength selected is transmitted through the correct port. Press
PORTS

select the port corresponding to the wavelength to transmit using the
|Up|
and
|Down|
keys
and press
WID
|F2|
to enable WaveID. FX86 WaveID can only be enabled one port at a time.
Using FX83/FX84/FX85:
•
In
LS
mode and in
PM1/PM2 (OLTS/OPM mode)
, press
LASER
|F2|,
then select desired
wavelength and press
Shift/Enter.
If the [ AUTO] option for a signal without WaveID or modulated
is selected,
the λ value goes blank and the measurement results are NOT
valid.
