mirrors. Additionally, a warning chime
may sound whenever the lane is
changed and an object is detected in
the blind spot zone.
Side blind spot alert uses two radar
sensors which are located in the rear
bumper on each side of the vehicle.
When the vehicle is started, both
LEDs on the exterior mirrors will
briefly come on to indicate that the
system is operating.
9 Warning
Side blind spot alert does not
replace driver vision.
The system does not detect:
● vehicles outside the side blind
zones which may be rapidly
approaching
● pedestrians, cyclists or animals
Before changing a lane, always
check all mirrors, look over the
shoulder and use the turn signal.
Activation
Activate the function in the vehicle
personalisation.
Two different modes are available:
● Visual mode
● Visual and audible mode

Functionality
The system provides different
warning signals, depending on which
mode has been selected.
Either the system warns the driver by
giving only a visual alert or a warning
chime sounds additional to that.
● When the visual mode has been
selected, a LED will illuminate in
the relevant exterior mirror, as
soon as the system detects a
vehicle in the side blind zone
while driving forwards.
● When the visual and audible
mode has been selected, a LED
will illuminate in the relevant
exterior mirror, as soon as the
system detects a vehicle in the
side blind zone while driving
forwards. In addition, a warning
chime sounds, as soon as the
indicator lever has been set for
the side in which the system has
detected a vehicle in the side
blind zone while driving forwards.
Notice
If rear cross traffic alert is activated,
the system still provides visual and
audible warning signals, even if the
side blind spot alert is deactivated or
only in visual mode.
