Operation and maintenance
Cleaning and sweeping
Risk of burn injuries!
Switch off of the burner and let it burn out
and cool before starting to clean it.
The interval of time between cleaning and ash removal
depends on the boiler's ash space, consumption and
pellet quality. You will quickly learn how often the
burner needs to be cleaned.
The flue gas thermometer can show you when it is time
to sweep. To retain good efficiency, the boiler should
be swept when the flue gas temperature has risen by
approximately 50 °C in relation to when the boiler was
last swept.
Burner stop
Turn down the boiler thermostat or switch off the
burner via the display so that it carries out cooling
before stopping.
Automatic ash removal
Ash removal takes place:
- when the burner starts after having been switched off
- after 8 hours of operation, factory setting. This time
can be adjusted depending on the boiler.
If the 8 hour limit is reached while the burner is in
operation, the burner waits for an hour for the thermostat
to switch off the burner. If this does not happen, the
burner stops, ash removal takes place and it restarts.
Sweeping warning
The warning is displayed after a set operating time.
The factory setting is 100 hours. Sweep the boiler and
acknowledge the warning.
Adjust the time so that the sweeping warning is
displayed after the number of operating hours it takes
for the flue gas temperature to increase by 50 °C.
Burner cleaning
The burner requires regular cleaning.
When sweeping the boiler, it is a good idea to clean
between the inner and outer burner pipes.
Detach the quick coupler on the hose from the feed
auger and the power supply to the burner. Open the
quick attachments and separate the burner, with the
inner burner pipe, from the outer burner pipe.
Brush the inner burner pipe clean. Avoid damaging the
oxide layer that has been formed. Clean the 4 mm holes
in the inner burner pipe if they are clogged.
Each time you clean, check the condition of the parts
in contact with flames. These are the inner burner pipe,
the end wall, the pellet stop and the hose between the
feed auger and downpipe.
Replace damaged parts as soon as possible.
When you refit the burner, check that the silicone
gasket is in place and is airtight. Otherwise, the inner
burner pipe may be damaged.
Blow any dust that has collected in and on the burner
away carefully with compressed air or brush it away
with a soft brush.
Clean the photoresistor if necessary.
Ash and soot can glow for several days.
Keep the ash in a metal container with a
tightly-sealed lid away from combustible
material.
Cleaning the pellet store
Over time, there will be fine fractions of pellets in the
base of the pellet store. If their volume is so high that
the pellet supply to the burner is impeded, the store
must be cleaned.
Handling pellets may entail health hazards. Contact
your pellet supplier for more information on how pellets
should be handled and stored.
Ventilate the store well before entering it and switch off
the feed auger.
Being in an unventilated store may entail a risk of death.
Ensure that children are unable to enter the store.
Naked flames are prohibited near the store.
Risk of crushing.
Do not insert hands or objects into the feed
auger.
Before any work is done on the feed auger,
the power cable must be disconnected from
the burner.
Safety system
Most of the safety functions of the pellet system cannot
be influenced by the user and require no special
control. The safety system consists of:
• overheating protection against excessive boiler
temperature.
• thermal relay in downpipe.
• non-combustible hose between feed auger and
downpipe.
• fan with fan guard.
• flame monitoring.
• blockage if the ambient temperature is too high.
