Always turn off the engine and wait until the work tool stops, before engaging in any activity near the machine!
Always turn the engine off before leaving the machine!
Never let the engine running at maximum speed or idling for long periods, with the blade drive clutch and wheel drive
clutch turned off! This could result in damage to the drivetrain components (V-belt, pulley, clutch pulley, etc.)!
2.4.2.4 Selecting the wheel drive speed
The machine has two forward speeds.
Slower
(belt fitted according to
Pic. 10
) is preferable for dense, wet, or high vegetation;
faster
(V-belt is fitted as shown in
Pic. 9
) is preferred for sparse, dry, or low laying vegetation.
Always adjust the drive speed to the type of vegetation or stop and wait for the work tool to process the material before
advancing!
Speeds are changed by moving the V-belt on the pulleys between the gearbox and the drive axle (see
Pic. 9
Pic. 10
). A sticker is
glued on the top gearbox cover (
Pic. 22
) with a picture of the belt positions in the pulleys on the gear box and the drive axle.
The engine must always be off and the gas lever in the
1
STOP position when the speeds are changed!
Procedure:
1)
Loosen the
plastic nut

), tilt out the
upper gearbox cover

in the direction of the arrow and pull it out
diagonally backwards. Push in the
foot
4
of the
lower gearbox cover
2
, located in the middle of the rear section of the
frame until the cover releases and pops out of the frame
tab
4
.
2)
Slide the whole V-belt of the pulley on the axle towards the left wheel. Subsequently then slide the V-belt from the pulley on the
gearbox towards the right wheel.
3)
Move the V-belt into the pulley groove on the axle that corresponds to the selected transfer ratio. Check visually and by touch if
the V-belt sits properly in the groove on the selected pulley.
4)
Move the V-belt into the pulley groove on the axle that corresponds to the selected transfer ratio. Check visually if the V-belt sits
in the correct pulleys according to the selected transfer ratio (see
Pic. 9
and
Pic. 10
). The V-belt must not cross!
5)
Reinstall both of the covers. Place the upper plastic cover under the engine plate, close it, and tighten the plastic nut. Bend the
bottom plastic cover upwards and place the opening into the
foot
4
of the cover on the frame tab. Loosen the deflection of the
cover, and the cover will sink into place.
2.4.3 Working with the machine
2.4.3.1 Machine cutting width
The cutting width breadth should always be adjusted to the density of vegetation!
We do not recommend using the maximum cutting width (
) given by the main deck cover. The operator is unable to lead the
machine sufficiently straight and precisely to remove the vegetation along the full deck width. We recommend that the operator drives the
machine partialy (approx. 5-10 cm from the edge of the main deck) in the cut vegetation (illustrated on
Pic. 5
perspective).
Following this principle will avoid any missed strips on the area maintained.
2.4.3.2 Changing the cutting height
Always turn off the engine and wait until the work tool stops, before engaging in any activity near the machine!
Always turn the engine off before leaving the machine!
The spur is factory set to the maximum cutting height for use in even the toughest terrain. If you are removing lighter, lower vegetation
or perhaps completely dry vegetation, you can decrease the cutting height to 4 cm. This will achieve better grinding of removed vegetation.
Changing the height is easily done after removing the
pin with spring
1
by rearranging a discrete number of
washers
2
(see
Pic. 8
).
Rearranging the washers provides you with up to 16 various cutting height positions.
2.4.3.3 Method of vegetation cutting
The vegetation must first be cleared of solid objects (such as rocks, wires, free construction remnants, etc.),
which could be ejected or which could damage the machine. If they cannot be removed, avoid these areas.
The machine has high land penetration. Firmly grip the handlebars to maintain a straight direction. Use increased
caution when walking behind the machine.
When cutting on slopes, proceed along contours for best result. In very steep slopes, such as e.g. ditches, always
drive perpendicular to the slope.
Observe that you maintain a safe climbing angle, see
Set the engine throttle to maximum rpm, let the work tool rotate to maximum rpm and then drive against the vegetation that you wish to
remove. The vegetation is ground up by the work tool under the main deck and the ground vegetation is directed by the specially shaped
cover to the space between the wheels, where it is removed to the rear of the machine.
If the cut vegetation is very thick, grown in, rotted, or flattened, the machine cutting width must be proportionally decreased to prevent a
large reduction of work tool rpms, which would consequently decrease the cutting quality.
66
Loosen the plastic nut by about 1 to 2 turns. The cover contains a groove that enables removal of the cover without the need of unscrewing the plastic nut.
