10-2. ATRT-03A Operating Voltages

The ATRT-03A utilizes a special switching power supply, where the input AC receptacle voltage
can range from 90-240 Vac or 80-300 Vdc.

The DC power plug will accept 12 Vdc from a battery.

A DC power cable with a cigarette-lighter plug is provided with each ATRT-03A.

11.0 ATRT-03/03A/03B Special Features
11-1. ATRT-03/03A/03B LCD Contrast Control

To darken the LCD screen, press and hold the “

↑

Contrast” button for two seconds. To lighten the

LCD screen, press and hold the “

↓

Contrast” button for two seconds.

11-2. ATRT-03/03B Test Voltages

The ATRT-03 and ATRT-03B have 3 selectable test voltages: 8 Vac, 40 Vac, and 100 Vac. The
ATRT-03A uses 20 Vac for test voltage. Refer to paragraph 26.0 for test voltage selection.

11-3. ATRT-03/03A/03B RS-232C Computer-Control Port

The ATRT-3/03A/03B can be controlled remotely via an RS-232C port. The ATRT-03/03A/03B
computer control must be enabled before it can be controlled via the RS-232C port. Refer to
section 24.0 for procedures to enable the computer interface control.

12.0 Windows-Based PC Transformer Analysis Software

Windows-Based PC Transformer Analysis Software is delivered with each ATRT-03/03A/03B.
This software allows the user to retrieve test reports (stored in the ATRT-03/03A/03B), download
test plan (to ATRT-03/03A/03B) or control the ATRT-03/03A/03B via a PC. When the
ATRT-03/03 is under computer control mode, users can run a transformer test and save the test
results directly on a PC. Since data are stored in ASCII format, test results can be imported into
any database desired.

13.0 ATRT-03 Cable Hook Up
13-1. ATRT-03/03A/03B Ground Cable

Always ground the ATRT-03/03A/03B before connecting H and X cables. Use the ground cable
provided with the cable set.

13-2. ATRT-03/03A/03B Test Leads

Ground transformer bushings before connecting test leads to transformer. This procedure
eliminates any induced voltages into the ATRT-03/03A/03B.

NOTE:

All transformer leads must be removed and the transformer must be isolated before performing any
test.
