Preparation
Sorting the laundry
• Sort the laundry by type, colour, degree of dirtiness and permitted water temperature.
• Always follow the instructions on the labels of your clothes.
Preparing the laundry for washing
• Clothing with metal elements such as underwired bras, belt buckles or metal buttons can
damage the machine. Remove these metal elements if you can or wash these clothes in a
string bag or a pillowcase.
• Empty any objects such as coins, ballpoint pens and paper clips from the pockets. Turn
them inside out. These types of objects can damage your machine or cause noise.
• Place small items of clothing such as children’s socks or nylon stockings in a string bag
or a pillowcase.
• Place curtains in the drum without compressing them down. Remove any fastening
elements from the curtains.
• Close zips, sew up loose buttons, and mend holes and tears before washing.
• Products labelled «machine washable» or «hand washable» should be washed only on a
suitable programme.
• Do not wash colours and whites together. New, dark-coloured cotton laundry can bleed its
colour. Wash them separately.
• Difficult stains must be treated properly before washing. If you have any questions, consult
a cleaning professional.
• Only use dyes/colour enhancers and descalers that are suitable for use in a washing
machine. Always follow the advice on the packaging.
• Wash trousers and delicates inside out.
• Put angora wool clothes in the freezer for a few hours before washing. This precautionary
measure reduces pilling.
• Clothes with heavy stains such as flour, chalk dust, milk powder, etc. must be shaken out
before being put into the machine. Over time, these dusts and powders can build up on the
internal surfaces of the machine and cause damage.
Tips for saving electricity and water
The following information will help you to use this appliance in an environmentally friendly
way by saving water and electricity.
• Use the product at the highest loading capacity allowed by the programme you have
selected, but do not overload the machine. Refer to the “Programme and Consumption
Table” section
• Follow the temperature recommendations on the detergent package.
• Wash slightly dirty laundry at a low temperature.
• Use faster programmes for small amounts of laundry or for slightly dirty laundry.
Do not use pre-wash and high temperatures for clothes that are not very dirty.
• If you plan to dry your laundry in a tumble dryer, select the highest recommended spin
speed during the washing process.
• Do not use more detergent than recommended on the package.
Loading the laundry
1. Open the door.
2. Put the clothes in the machine in any order.
3. Push and close the door until you hear a click. Make sure that no clothes are trapped in
the door. The door is locked throughout the programme. The door can only be opened after
a certain period of time.
Appropriate loading capacity
• The maximum load depends on the type of laundry, the level of dirtiness and the washing
programme you wish to use.
• The machine automatically adjusts the amount of water according to the weight of the
laundry inside it.
WARNING:
Follow the information in the “Programme and Consumption Table». When
the machine is overloaded, its washing performance is less effective. Noise and vibrations
may also occur.
