Intended use includes observance of the operating and
installation instructions and all other applicable docu-
ments, as well as adherence to the maintenance and
inspection conditions.
Caution.
Any improper use is forbidden.
2.3 General safety instructions
Always observe the following safety instructions and
regulations.
Installation and placement
The unit may only be installed by a recognised expert
technician. He is also responsible for correct installation
and commissioning as well as for observance of the
existing regulations, rules and guidelines.
He is also responsible for repairing the unit.
Changes in the surroundings of the unit
Alterations are forbidden to structural elements in the
surroundings of the unit which might affect its opera-
tional safety.
For alterations to the unit or its surroundings, you must
consult the responsible recognised expert technician.
Avoiding malfunctions
To avoid malfunctions, the following must be observed:

Never disable the safety devices.
>
Do not manipulate any safety devices.
>
Do not make any modifications:
– to the unit,
– to the surroundings of the unit,
– to the electrical supply line.
Avoiding material damage caused by improper
modifications
Observe the following:
>
You must not interfere with or manipulate the electri-
cal room heater yourself under any circumstances.
>
Never try to repair the unit yourself.
3 Notes on operation
3.1 Requirements for the installation site
The Vaillant VER electrical room heaters are wall
mounted.

The minimum separation distances from floors, walls,
curtains, furniture etc. must be observed according to
figure 3.1.
Ask your heating engineer which currently applicable
national regulations must be observed.
The symbol to the left can be found on the
unit. It is intended to advise you that the
boiler must not be covered under any cir-
cumstances.

The following safety information should
also be observed in this respect.

Caution.
Risk of fire if the boiler overheats.
If the boiler is covered, it may overheat. The
object covering the boiler could catch fire.
>
Do not cover the boiler under any circum-
stances.
>
Under no circumstances should the boiler
be installed directly under a wall socket.
