• Open the gas valve and check for leaks up to the gas
fitting.
• Switch the boiler on.
• Use a gas sensing instrument to check for leaks in the
gas/air combination behind the gas fitting and along
the burner gaskets.
• Tighten the screws to 12 Nm if necessary.

Changing the ignition and ionisation/
monitoring electrodes

Caution!
Danger of malfunctions caused by deposits!
Deposits on the electrodes can cause impair-
ments to the function of the unit.
The ignition and ionisation/monitoring elec-
trodes should therefore be replaced annually.
Cleaning is not sufficient and is therefore not
acceptable.

• Carefully pull off the connecting cable (

from the ignition electrode (

• Loosen the two fixing nuts (

electrode and remove the entire electrode.
• Replace the gasket (

, Fig. 8.9) and fit the new igni-
tion electrode.
• Carefully pull off the connecting cable from the ionisa-
tion/monitoring electrode (

• Switch on the mains switch.
• Turn the heating circuit off.
• Set the unit to maximum feed temperature and heat
the unit up to switch-off by the controller.
• After waiting for two minutes (temperature equalisa-
tion) start the "
P.5
" test program.
As a result of starting the "
P.5
" test program, the boiler
remains in operation until the safety temperature limit-
er responds.
To call up the "
P.5
" test program, proceed as follows:
• Switch the mains "
on
" and simultaneously keep the
"
+
" button pressed for 5 seconds.
• Using "
+
" or "
-
", select the "
P.5
" test program.
• Confirm your selection by pressing the "
Info
" button.
The test program and hence the boiler will be started
for the STL test.

Note
The internally connected heating pump is
switched off during the STL test.
The boiler must switch off at 110 ºC.
• Reset the safety thermostat after the boiler has
cooled down (see Section 9.4).

Note
The test program is automatically exited after
15 minutes. The test must be performed within
this time period.
8.13
Check the dust filter
• Check the dust filter annually for contamination.
• Clean the dust filter or replace it with a new one.
8.14 Functional
check
After completion of all inspection and maintenance
work, always carry out a function check as described in
Section 6.6.
