8 Use of the machine
8.1 Driving instructions

The first run should be made immediately after
harvesting and at 20°–40° to the direction of threshing.

The second run should be made at 20°–40° to the
previous run.
The final run before drilling must not be made in the
same direction in which drilling is intended to take
place.
If drilling is to be carried out using a Väderstad Rapid,
its front tool will provide optimal conditions if the last
run prior to drilling is carried out obliquely to the
intended direction of drilling.
8.2 Transport lock

The machine is equipped with a semi-automatic transport
lock.
Do the following before folding the machine into the
transport position:
1. Completely raise the front tool using the hydraulics.
2. The transport lock is now activated automatically due
to the catch (A) being locked in place by the locking
hook (B) when the machine is folded up.
Do the following before folding out the machine into the
working position:
1. Manoeuvre the front tool down/outwards completely
using the hydraulics.
Please be aware that the needle (A) must be in
position (B) to allow the tool to be folded out
completely to the working position, see

2. When the front tool is completely folded out, the latch
(A) will be released by means of the rod (C) “Figure
8.3 “ .
