TO REMOVE
To remove the bit or accessory, turn the keyless
chuck counter-clockwise direction to loosen
the collet, and then get the bit out.
DUAL RANGE GEAR SELECTOR
The dual range gear selector allows you to
select the gear with the optimum speed and
torque to suit the application.
Use low speed for starting holes without a cen-
ter punch, driving screws and drilling ceramics,
or in applications requiring a higher torque.
High speed is better for drilling wood and
wood compositions, steel and for using abra-
sive and polishing accessories.
To select the low speed,
high torque setting, turn
the tool off and let the
motor come to a com-
plete standstill. Slide the
dual range gear selector
forward fully so that the
letter”Lo” is shown.
To select the high speed,
low torque setting, turn
the tool off and let the
motor come to a com-
plete standstill. Slide the
dual range gear selector
backward fully so that
the letter “Hi” is shown.
NOTE: Make sure that the dual range gear se-
lector is either completely in Position “Lo” or
completely in Position “Hi”.
Do not change gears when the tool is running.
If you have difficulty changing from one gear
range to the other, turn the chuck by hand un-
til the gears engage.
FORWARD/REVERSE CONTROL
The forward/reverse control determines the di-
rection of rotation of the tool.
To select forward rota-
tion, release the trigger
switch and push the for-
ward/reverse control to
the left side of the tool.
To select reverse, push the forward/reverse
control to the right side of the tool. The center
position of the control locks the trigger in the
off position.
WARNING: When changing the position of
the control, make sure the trigger is released
and the motor is stationary.
NOTE: The first time the tool is run after chang-
ing the direction of rotation, you may hear a
click on start up. This is normal and does not
indicate a problem.
TORQUE ADJUSTMENT COLLAR
Your drill is fitted with a variable clutch, which
is operated with the torque adjustment ring.
Once adjusted, the clutch will work at a pre-
determined torque; this avoids screwing too
deeply or damaging your drill. Torque adjust-
ment varies with the types of screw used and
the working material. Always start using a low
torque and increase gradually to achieve suit-
able operation.
Select the desired operating torque by turning
the torque adjusting ring to the appropriate
setting.
DRILL / SCREWDRIVER / HAMMER SELEC-
TION COLLAR
Three working modes
are available on this
tool: drilling, screw driv-
ing and hammer drill-
ing. To select any of the
three modes, rotate the
function selection collar
until the desired symbol
aligns with the indicator
on the housing.
This symbol “ ” indicates the DRILL POSI-
TION. Use this mode for high speed drilling
(wood, aluminium, and steel). The clutch will
be locked. This symbol “ ” indicates the
SCREWDRIVER POSITION. Use this mode for
screw driving, and the torque is adjustable
by rotating the torque adjustment collar. This
symbol “ ” indicates the HAMMER POSI-
TION. Use this mode to select hammer action.
LED WORK LIGHT
Your drill has a LED work
light will come on when
the trigger switch is de-
pressed. The LED work
light will turn off when
the trigger switch is re-
leased.
