INTENDED USE OF THE DEVICE
This device was designed and made to be connected as an extension to an Urmet telephone
switchboard (PABX).
The device must therefore be installed in the PABX and programmed, if required, by quali ed
personnel.
Urmet reserves the right to change the product speci cations and performance without prior
notice.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
You have purchased a cordless telephone. Please read the following safety precautions carefully
before plugging the device in. They contain useful information on safety and use.
Only use batteries of the type included to avoid damage.
The cordless telephone and the base unit may interfere with the operation of medical apparatuses.
The telephone may cause unpleasant noise in connection to hearing aids.
Do not install the base unit in a bathroom or in a damp place.
Do not install the base unit near a bedroom if you are sensitive to electric waves.
Do not use the telephone in explosion-risk environments (e.g. service stations, paint workshops,
etc.).
Dispose of the batteries and the telephones after use at a public collection point or hand them back
to a shop. Do not dispose of them as common waste.
Keep these instructions and give them to future users.
IMPORTANT NOTE - EMERGENCY CALLS
The Icarus is not designed for making emergency calls when the mains power fails. So you should
make alternative arrangements for access to Emergency Services.
(This means that you should also have a basic phone that does not need mains power, connected
to your line so that you can make calls during a power failure).
