area network (LAN), the e-mail notification functions, the use of a DDNS (Dynamic DNS) service, and so on.
3.4.4.1

selecting the IP address and the respective parameters:
PPPOE

,
the DVR can be accessed in local or remotely via a local area network or the Internet.
Some parameters which are in common to all functions are available in addition to the specific parameters of each single
mode illustrated below. These are:
•
UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) function:
If router supports UPnP function, by setting the option to Enabled,
system will automatically forward port to router, simplifying the configuration procedure to accessing a remote
device connected to the Internet.
It is possible to reach the DVR on the Internet (with or without DDNS) only if the Internet service supplier assigns a public
IP address (static or dynamic) to the router. It is therefore advisable to check this crucial detail with your Internet provider
beforehand.
