Connection to the telephone network (PSTN)
To connect the modem to the telephone line proceed as follows:
Using the appropriate telephone cable supplied with terminal, insert the RJ-11
plug into the socket indicated in Figure 5 with the wording "telephone line";
Insert the other end of the cable with telephone plug into the existing telephone
outlet using , when necessary, the adapter supplied with terminal.
Connection to the cash register
The GIGAS terminal can be connected to an external device through a serial
interface, as indicated in Figure 4 with the RS-232 wording.
Optional communication interfaces
Depending on the terminal model, the terminal can be equipped with the following
optional interfaces:
second RS-232 serial interface (the pinout is shown in table on page 18)
USB interface
Optional interfaces are located in the interface compartment.
To access the interface compartment, follow the steps below:
remove the SAM-SD/MMC compartment cover following indication in Figure
5A;
lift the interface compartment cover straight up to remove it as shown in Figure
5B.
