General Safety
WARNING: The appliance and its accessible parts become hot during use. Care should be taken to
avoid touching heating elements.
• Do not operate the appliance by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
WARNING: Do not leave hot fat or oil unattended. If overheating occurs, these could catch fire.
Never try to extinguish a fire with water, but switch off the appliance and then cover flame e.g.
with a lid or a fire blanket.
CAUTION: All cooking processes must be supervised continuously.
WARNING: Danger of fire: Do not store any items on the cooking surfaces.
• Metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons and lids should not be placed on the hob surface since
they can get hot.
• Do not use a steam cleaner to clean the appliance.
• Do not operate the appliance if it is defective or has any visible damage.
• If the glass ceramic surface / glass surface is cracked, switch off the appliance and unplug it from the
mains. In case the appliance is connected to the mains directly using the junction box, remove the fuse
to disconnect the appliance from power supply. In either case contact the Authorised Service Centre.
A damaged power cord/plug can cause fire or give you an electric shock. When damaged it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, an Authorized Service Technician, or a similarly qualified person in order
to avoid a hazard.
• Do not carry out any repairs or modifications on the appliance.
• Never use the appliance when your judgment or coordination is impaired by the consumption of
alcohol and/or drugs.
Be careful when using alcoholic drinks in your dishes. Alcohol evaporates at high temperatures and
may cause a fire since it can ignite when it comes into contact with hot surfaces.
• Only use the appliance for preparing food.
• Your appliance is for domestic use only. Using it for commercial or any other purposes, for example
room heating, will cause your warranty to be cancelled.
• Do not use the appliance for heating closed tins and glass jars. The pressure that would build up in the
tin/jar may cause it to burst.
Fats and oil, when heated, can release flammable vapours. Keep flames or heated objects away
from fats and oils when you cook with them.
The vapours that very hot oil releases can cause spontaneous combustion.
Used oil, that can contain food remnants, can cause fire at a lower temperature than oil used for
the first time.
Do not use or store flammable products (alcohol, petrol, benzene etc.) near the appliance as these
pose a fire or explosion risk.
• Do not cover the hob or burners with aluminium foil.
• Make sure that the hob controls are switched off after every use.
• Switch off the power at the mains in the event of a fault or when cleaning the appliance.
