Do not spray any oil or other lubricants into the cutter opening

These can irreparably damage the appliance.
► To avoid irreparable damage to the appliance, ensure that no moisture
gets into it during cleaning.
► Do not use caustic, abrasive or solvent-based cleaning materials. These can
damage the surfaces of the appliance.
♦ Remove any residue left in the cutter opening

or cutting blades with a suit-
able object (e.g. brush or tweezers). Ensure that the appliance is unplugged
before doing this.
♦ Clean the surfaces of the appliance with a soft, dry cloth.
♦ Use a lightly moistened cloth and a mild detergent to remove stubborn dirt
residues from the appliance surface.
♦ Remove dust deposits on the grille of the ventilation system

with a paint-
brush, soft brush or a vacuum cleaner.
Storage when not in use
♦ If you decide not to use the appliance for a long period, disconnect it from
the mains power supply and store it in a clean, dry place away from direct
sunlight.
Troubleshooting
If there is a jam in the appliance
This means that you may have attempted to feed too much paper into the appli-
ance (max. 10 sheets 80 g/m
2 paper).
♦ Press the REV button

if the paper being shredded is jammed. The appli-
ance now goes into reverse and the material is ejected.
♦ Alternatively, press the FWD button

if the paper being shredded is jammed.
The appliance is now in forwards operation and the material that is being
shredded is pulled in again.
♦ Pull the shredded paper out of the appliance and press the AUTO button

.
The appliance is now ready for use again.
If the appliance suddenly stops working
This means that the appliance has overheated and the automatic safety cut-out
has activated itself. The LED
t
lights up continuously red.
♦ Allow the appliance to cool down for about 10 minutes.
The appliance is now ready for use.
