Q. How do I wire my One Series output for normally
open or normally closed contacts?
A.
The One Series offers four distinct switching modes (outputs). Using the keypad, simply
program the Switch Mode to the one desired. Refer to Pg.14 for more details.
Q. Is the deadband of the One Series switch adjustable?
A
. The deadband is fully adjustable over the entire range of the sensor using the keypad.
See Pg. 15 for more details.
Q. Can I set and test the One Series after it is installed?
A.
The One Series can be fully configured (set point, deadband and switch mode) after
installation has been completed. Once the process connection is made and power has been
provided to the One Series, it is easy to change the settings using the keypad. This makes testing
the installation and troubleshooting the process very easy without removing the unit and returning
it to the instrument shop. For added safety, disconnect the output while testing and reconnect
after the desired switch behavior has been achieved.
Q. Does the One Series offer DPST switch output?
A.
The One Series contains one switch output for primary control and one for the IAW™ signal.
In some applications, these can simulate DPST behavior where both alarm and shutdown signals
are required. The switch output can be used for the shutdown function and the IAW™ signal can
be interpreted as the alarm.
Q. Does the One Series meet the definition
of a "Two-Wire" transmitter?
A.
A true "two-wire" device is powered by the same circuit that it communicates on. The One
Series requires a separate power supply rated at 24VDC@100mA or 115/230 VAC, and provides
the 4-20mA signal as a third wire. Because of this, the One Series cannot be considered a "two-
wire" device.
