The Switched Output may be used in a number of ways to provide local control of the alarm/
shutdown circuit, eliminating the need for remote monitoring, interpretation, and switching logic
algorithms in a PLC, DCS or computer. The One Series switched output is intended to initiate an
alarm or shutdown sequence locally and independent of other interpretive devices. Either the low
level open drain output or the optional high current solid-state relay provides fast, reliable
switching in the field at the point of measurement. The switched output is designed as a fail-safe-
open circuit so that if the One Series loses power the output will open.
The standard, open drain output may be used to trigger logic level circuits to initiate an alarm or
shutdown sequence. The optional high level solid-state relay is intended to switch loads directly
such as relays, contactors or moderate AC voltage loads.
A LCD digital display provides additional information such as process variable magnitude (both
numeric and in a bar graph format), units of measure, and switch status. The measured process
variable and units of measure are displayed numerically on the top line of the display. The second
line of the display serves as a percent of range bar graph indicator and displays several
diagnostic messages.
The bar graph indicator consists of 48 segments, each segment representing a process value of
approximately 2% of span. NOTE: If the 4-20mA output is scaled (option M205), the bar graph
will indicate the scaled range while the digital readout indicates the full range of the process.
Certain diagnostic information may be displayed in the lower line of the display. If the output trips,
VALUE > SET POINT or VALUE < SET POINT will flash, alternately with the bar graph indication.
An alternately flashing display of OVERRANGE ! informs the user that the measured process
variable is above the maximum range value.
Display diagnostic
Displayed if process variable is:
VALUE > SET POINT
Above high limit alarm/shutdown set point value
VALUE < SET POINT
Below low limit alarm/shutdown set point value
OVERRANGE
Above the device maximum operating range
OUT OF RANGE
Set point or deadband value is set out of range
A four key keypad allows for front panel programming of the operating parameters. SET POINT,
DEADBAND, SWITCH MODE, process EXTREMES and UNIT ID NUMBER can be displayed and edited
using the keypad.

n
A single press of a key displays the appropriate parameter.
NOTE: If there is no keypad activity for approximately 4 seconds,
the unit returns to normal operation.

Pressing the
and
keys simultaneously allows you to
o
Enter the editing mode and
o
Exit the editing mode and save the new parameter.
n
Pressing the
key twice rapidly, displays the (+) and (-) Extreme values read by the
product since the last time these values were reset.
