•  Do not crank the engine for more than 20 seconds, allow the electric starting motor to  
  cool for 2 minutes before cranking the engine again. 
•  Do not use aerosol types of starting aids such as ether. It could result in an explosion  
  and personal injury.

•  Do not push the start button and preheat button while the engine is running because this can damage the ring gear  
 

and/or the starter motor.

•  If the engine protection or battery charging lights do not turn off shortly after starting the engine, shut off the  
 

engine immediately and determine the cause.

Note:

 when starting for the first time, or after and extended period of time not operating, it will take longer than  

normal to start because the fuel pump has to fill the fuel system.
Please bleed the fuel system as indicated in Perkins instruction manual.

Stop engine: (please refer to the figure 1)

•  Disconnect or shut off any loads which are connected to the unit auxiliary outputs.
•  Stop welding.

Set the engine speed control switch (2) to the “ auto” position. Let engine run at idle for 3 minutes 
Turn the engine speed control switch (2) to “off” position, the engine will stop.

Before stopping engine, it is compulsory to stop welding and shut off any loads to auxiliary power. 
Do not stop engine while it is running under load.
