Grounding connection

The grounding connection to an earthed installation is obligatory for this model equipped with a RCD (differential 
switch and circuit breaker) in these groups, the generator star point is generally connected to the machine’s earth by 
employing the TN or TT distribution system, the differential switch guarantees protection against indirect contacts. 
In the case of powering complex installations requiring or employing additional electrical protection devices,  
the coordination between the protection devices must be verified
For the grounding connection, use the terminal 

comply to local and /or current regulations in force for electrical  

installations and safety.

Prestart check

Perform the required daily maintenance and any other periodic maintenance that is due(see Perkin’sowner’s manual). 
For the maximum service life of engine, make a thorough inspection, Look for following items: oil leak, coolant leak, 
fuel leak, loose bolts, and excessive dirt and /or grease. Remove any excessive dirt or grease buildup. Repair any 
faults that were identified during inspection. Inspect the cooling system for cracks and loose clamps. Inspect the 
alternator and accessory drive belt for cracks, breaks, and other damage. Inspect the wiring for loose connections and 
for worn or frayed wires. Check the fuel supply, drain water for water separator. Check the oil level daily, put in the 
recommended oil and Fuel. 

Check all engine fluid’s daily!

Do not use gasoline. 
gasoline will damage engine.

 

The unit is shipped with enough fuel to prevent air from  
entering fuel system. Add fresh diesel fuel before starting. 
(see engine operation instruction label for fuel  
specifications)  
Do not run fuel tank dry because air will enter fuel system 
and cause starting problems. See engine manualon how to 
bleed air from fuel system.

• Tray Liners, shipping skids and some running
  gears insulate the welding generator from the  
  vehicle frame. Always connect a ground wire  
  from the generator equipment grounding terminal  
  to bare metal on the vehicle frames as shown.
