Installation and setup instructions
To ensure reliable and save operation of the unit, you should carefully read this instruction- and
setup-manual.
To prevent overheating, make sure that the cabinet and / or the rack is sufficiently ventilated
and that there are no other heat sources in the immediate vicinity.
For trouble-free operation the ambient temperature of 30° C must not be exceeded.
Please do not expose unit to direct sunlight or place it near a heater. Avoid splashing water,
high humidity and extensive dust and vibration.
Should a foreign object or fluid get inside the unit, be sure to disconnect power immediately and
have unit checked by an authorized dealer.
Do not open unit, as otherwise warranty will be void.
Before switching the amplifier on, the master control as well as all input controls are completely
turned to it’s utmost counterclockwise positions.
Incorrect positioning of these level controls can lead to sudden outburst of sound, that can
damage speakers and /or amplifier.
Features:

UCA 8240 is a microprocessor controlled 6 zone mixing amlifier.
•
Each mic input has it’s own separate tone controls for treble & bass.
•
The inputs MIC 5 / LINE 1 and MIC 6 / LINE 1 can be used for input signals with different levels (mic or
line)
•
The 6 mic inputs can be operated with 4 different priority modi.
•
The Tel/EMG input has always the highest priority with he following order:Tel/EMG > desktop paging mics
> mics > Source, Aux1~3, wall panel.
•
MIC 1 input also has a RJ45 connector for an analog desktop paging mic that can talk into all zones.
•
The amplifier has keys to select the following line inputs: REMOTE, SOURCE , AUX1, 2 & 3. The input
has an own level controls and separate adjusters for treble and bass.
•
In combination with the additional components like desk top mics UPM 8006, zone extension UCX 8012 or
wall panel UWC 8006 you can create a complete microprocessor controlled communication system.
•
Zones 1 – 6 can also be selected directly at the amplifier and each zone comprises of an own volume
control.
•
A master control allows to adjust the volume of all zones at the same time.
•
The number of zones can be extended to up to 54 and the system allows different modi for BGM and
calling signal.
•
Optional music sources with CD, USB, SD and Tuner are available.
•
A 20kHz pilot tone detection allows the automatic switchover to a spare amplifier in case of amplifier
malfunction.
