10.1 Compression
Specify an appropriate video compression type that the KLE-Z applies to trasmit the compressed video to
the
IPViewer
application. The compression types are listed from lowest to highest in data volume. Note
that a low video compression type (higher data volume) requires more processing time for the KLE-Z thus
it takes longer to be displayed on the
IPViewer
application. High video compression (lower data volume)
helps the transmission efficiency, especially under low network bandwidth.
The data volume is correlated to the video type as well. Digital videos are generally smaller in size than
the analog ones. For analog video like VGA, it is further related to its video quality setting (refer to the
subsection 8.4.2
Video Capture Settings
).
The video display can be slow when connected and transmitted over the Internet. The image quality
is highly correlated to the overall bandwidth of the network. If the bandwidth is too low, choose an
appropriate compression mode.
●
Slow Internet:
Video compression optimized for Internet bandwidth lower than 2Mbps.
●
Fast Internet:
Video compression optimized for high-speed Internet.
●
LAN:
Video compression optimized for 100BaseT.
●
Automatic:
KLE-Z optimizes its best compression type according to the current network bandwidth.
10.2 Local Cursor
By default, as you are moving the mouse of your computer running the
IPViewer
at the remote location,
you will see two arrow-shaped cursors moving with different speeds. The faster one is for your computer
at the remote location and the slower one is for the attached computer at the local location. Unless you
move the mouse of your computer, these two arrow-shaped cursors shall superimpose one on another.
The user can adjust some parameters in the
Local Cursor
option to eliminate his confusion with the
slower local cursor of the attached computer at the local location.
●
No Cursor:
Only the local cursor of the attached computer will show on the screen. The local cursor
movement will be a bit slow due to the networking propagation via the LAN or Internet.
●
Dot:
Show the remote cursor as a dot to easily distinguish the remote cursor and the local one.
