12 TROUBLESHOOTING
FAULT
POSSIBLE CAUSE REMEDY
1 PUMP DOESN’T DELIVER,
MOTOR DOESN’T START a. No voltage
b. Circuit braker switch intervened
c. Impeller blocked
d. Motor or capacitor damaged
a. Check the connection
b. Switch on the magnetothermal
c. Make sure impeller rotates freely
d. Contact the supplier
2 PUMP DOESN’T DELIVER,
MOTOR IS RUNNING
a. Absence of liquid
b. Pump not primed correctly
a. Check the presence of liquid in the
tank
b. Fill whit liquid the body pump
3 PUMP DELIVER A LOWER
FLOW RESPECT THAT
DECLARATED ON THE
DATA CURVES a. Delivery pipe partly obstricted
b. Impeller worn
c. The rotation direction is wrong (only on
tree-phase versions)
a. Remove the eventually obstructions
b. Contact the supplier to replace it
c. Check the sense of rotation and
eventually invert it.
4 PUMP DOESN’T STOP a. The supply switch is defective a. Replace it
5 INTERMITTENT
OPERATION a. The pump is partly blocked by impurities
that blocked the impeller
b. Temperature or density of liquid to be
pumped too high
c. Motor defective
a. Remove the eventually impurities on
hydraulic part
b. Check the condition of the liquid to
be pumped.
c. Contact the supplier to replace it.
6 THE OVERLOAD
PROTECTION DEVICE
STOP THE PUMP a. The motori is overheating
b. The pump is mechanically blocked
a. Verify the possible reasons that
bring the motor to hight
temperature and remove it
b. Checking for the occurrence of
rubbing between moving and fixed
parts, check the state of mechanical
seal and bearings
7 PUMP LEAK LIQUID a. O-ring damaged
b. Mechanical seal damaged
a. Replace the o-ring
b. Replace the mechanical seal
