Installing Under NetWare 386 Version 3.11.
Like NetWare 386 Version 3.1, a patch is still required for dual channel operations.
Fortunately, that patch has already been implemented by Novell so that there is no
need to do the patch manually. Following are the steps needed to setup for dual
channel operations.
1. Copy all the files in the Novell NetWare 386 "SYSTEM" diskettes (total of
three diskettes) onto drive C.
2. Go to C drive and type "SERVER" to invoke NetWare installation.
3. Enter server name and internal network number in the Novell Server
program. Following the prompt ":" enter the following commands to load
the hard disk device driver for primary and secondary controller card.
:LOAD ISADISK /l I/O port: 1F0 Interrupt number: E
:LOAD ISADISK /l I/O port: 170 Interrupt number: F
(NOTE: The entry following "/" is a lower case "L")
4. Load NetWare 386 INSTALL module by typing in LOAD INSTALL
following the ":" prompt.
5. NOTE: Be sure that the STARTUP.NCF file contains the following two
lines with the option "l" switch.
load ISADISK port=1F0 int=E /l
load ISADISK port=170 int=F/ l
(NOTE: The entry following "/" is a lower case "L")
6. Proceed with normal NetWare 386 installation.
