3. Before initial use, conduct a test run with the ultraHEAD-LOCK II to
become aware of the handling of the product.
4. In the event of damage or suspected damage to the straps or the
ultraHEAD-LOCK II, remove the product from operation immediately until
any occurring irregularities have been remedied.
5. All serious incidents related to the device shall be reported to the
manufacturer and to the competent authority of the Member State
where the user and/or the patient is established.
3. Use of the ultraHEAD-LOCK II
Manual immobilisation may not be interrupted when applying the
ultraHEAD-LOCK II on the patient.
1. Attach the base plate to the spinal board with the help of the broad restraint strap
(Figure1a,b).

2. Place the patient onto the spinal board so that the head rests in the centre of the base
plate. To ensure a neutral alignment, additional padding may be required under the head
(in adults) or the thorax (in children).
3. Open both restraint frame handles and guide the restraint frames into the rails up to the
patient’s head, then align the recesses with the ears.
4. To arrest, push both handles downwards. (Figure 2b). For possible adjustments, pull the
