Warning: The reactor is now in operation and the
process of lowering the pH begins.
Saturation (Bubbles in the reactor):
If you enter too
much CO2, the CO2 concentration in the water will be
too high for other CO2 to dissolve. Immediately lower
the CO2 intake.
Precipitation (White water in the reactor):
If the PH is
too low for the used media, the dissolved material
may precipitate causing component wear.
Immediately lower the CO2 intake.
After about 24 hours take a water sample from the
drainpipe and check that carbonate hardness is
approximately higher than that in the tank. Usually
reactors are set to provide a 25-30 ° KH.
Manual correction:
Operate the control valve and
increase the bubbles per second if the value of °KH
detected is too low. Conversely, decreased the
number of bubbles per second.
PH controller correction:
Operate the controller and
lower the PH limit value if the value of °KH detected is
too low. Conversely, increased the PH limit value.
At least every week you will need to check the
aquarium's °KH value and observe the trend. If the
value continues to decrease, it is necessary to increase
the output water flow. Conversely, decreased flow.
Manual regulation:
After changing the outflow, it is
necessary to adjust the CO2 intake until the proper
carbonate hardness leaving the reactor, usually 25-30
° KH, is obtained.
PH Controller regulation:
After changing the output
flow, it would not be necessary to adjust the CO2
intake, as the solenoid valve automatically adjusts it.
MAINTENANCE
Before performing any maintenance, disconnect the
product from power supply. Do not use abrasive
products, toxic and unsuitable for cleaning operation.
Every day:
Check every day for leaks and cracks. Check
correct CO2 input through the bubble counter and
check the water out flow.
Every 7 days:
Measure the output flow and check KH°
value, in the case correct the CO2 input flow. Check
values in the tank, in case correct them buffer with
liquid or powder. Check if the drain valve is not
clogged or covered with debris. In case replace it with
a new one.
Warning: The metal components may be subject to
surface oxidation, clean every sign of oxidation.
Every 120 days:
Perform complete control by
removing the reactor from the sump and taking it
apart. Completely replace the medium inside the
reactor.
NOISE AND VIBRATIONS
If the reactor vibrate or make noise it may have worn
the pump impeller. Check immediately the pump
impeller looking for scratches and/or splines. This may
take place since the first hours of operation due to:
1.
Using charge media
different from the suggested
one.
2.
Media not properly cleaned
3.
Precipitation (too low PH in reactor chamber)
Warning: If necessary, replace the impeller and
carefully clean the whole reactor. Completely replace
the media with new suitably prepared and cleaned
material.
