3. Inﬂating the cuff and measuring

Press the Start/stop button. The entire
display will light up and you can check to
see if the device is working correctly.
The “O” signal will then be displayed
and three short beeping signals will be
given to signify the complete deﬂation of
the cuff, whereupon inﬂation will com-
mence. Blood pressure and pulse are
measured during the inﬂation process. The
” “symbol in the display ﬂashes and a
beep indicates the pulse. The cuff is then
inﬂated and blood pressure and pulse are
measured during the inﬂating process.
