Measurement while lying down
Lie on your back. Attach the unit to your wrist and
hold the unit at the same height as your heart (e.g.
by resting your arm on a pillow or cushion). Breathe
deeply 5 or 6 times to relax before measurement.
While measuring keep your arm still and do not
talk.
Please note:
Do not under any circumstances bend your wrist.
•
Keep your hand relaxed, do not clench your hand or form a fist.
•
If the cuff is lower or higher than heart height, the reading may in turn
be higher or lower.
•
Measuring blood pressure
8.
Switch on the unit by pressing the Start/Stop button. The
following display appears:
•
After the unit has completed its calibration against the
ambient air pressure, the cuff is automatically inflated to
approx. 190 mmHg. If that cuff pressure is not sufficient
for measuring the blood pressure level, the device
automatically increases the cuff pressure in steps of 40
mmHg until a sufficient cuff pressure has been reached.
•
Body posture when taking measurements
7.
Measurement while sitting
Whenever possible, measurements should be taken while sitting. In
exceptional cases it is also permitted to take measurements while standing
or lying down.
Sit at a dining table, resting your back against the
backrest of the chair, and support your forearm so
that the cuff is at exactly the same height as your
heart. Place your feet on the floor and do not cross
your legs.
For an inflation pressure exceeding 190 mmHg the inflation process
can also be controlled manually: Keep the Start/Stop button pressed
immediately after the inflation has started and release it when the cuff
pressure has reached 40 mmHg above the expected maximum systolic
