Cleaning and maintenance
WARNING: The device must be separated from the mains before carrying out maintenance work!
Opening the housing (Figures 1 + 2 + 3)
Careful: The UV-C ray emitter cannot be switched on in case of opened housing.
(Safety switch-off!!)
• At first unscrew the safety screw at the underside of the bottom part.
• Then press in the two clip locks at the rear of the top part and remove this (Figure 3).
Cleaning UV-C-device
• At firstunscrew the 3 fastening screws of the UV-C device (Figure 4)
• Then remove the UV-C unit from the pump (Figure 4).
• Press the lock and screw off the UV-C housing (Clock-wise, Figures 5 +6).
• Clean the UV-C housing under flowing water.
• Clean the quartz glass on the outside with a moist cloth
• Then reassemble in reverse order.
Information: The quartz glass of the UV-C device should be cleaned at least two or three times during the year, depending on the contamination degree of the pond water and the
increase in algae growth. Clean the quartz glass sleeve from dirt and lime deposition with a soft cleaning cloth soaked in a weak cleaning agent (Like vinegar solution). Hereby, avoid
scratching the quartz glass and do not touch, if possible, the glass sleeve directly with your hands. Even small traces of sweat and fat on the quartz glass burn into the quartz glass due
to the UV-C irradiation and can later lead to a performance reduction of your UV-C device.
Replacing the UV-C-ray emitter
• Take off the quartz glass by opening the bayonet lock (Figure7)
• Pull off the inserted UV-C-ray emitter from the socket and replace it with a new one (Figure 8)
• Then return the quartz glass and lock with the bayonet lock.
Information: The UV-C ray emitters installed into the devices have a life span of approximately 5,000 working hours. The UV-C capacity is reduced that much after these working hours
that the UV-C ray emitter must be replaced. Suitable spare emitters are available from your Ubbink specialist supplier.
Cleaning the device housing and filter insert
• Clean the top and bottom part of the housing with clean water and a brush.
• Take out the filter foam block and wash it out in flowing water. Do not use any chemical cleaning agents (Figure 9).
Cleaning the pump
• Lift the pump a little and pull it out of the holder (Figure 10).
• Loosen the 4 screws at the pump cover and take out the rotor (Figures 11+12)
• Clean all parts with clean water and possibly with a brush.
• Reassemble everything after cleaning in reverse order and insert the pump into the guide on the base plate.
Storing/wintering
The device must be disassembled when there is a frost and stored protected from frost. Thorough cleaning should be carried out before storing and the device checked for damages.
