arms, and deflector are bronze, and the mounting cup is
steel. The cover plate and enclosure are brass.
DESIGN CRITERIA
The Stealth S110 (SIN S3200), 5.6 K-Factor, Quick Re-
sponse, Concealed Pendent Sprinklers are “quick re-
sponse - standard orifice spray sprinklers” intended for
use in fire sprinkler systems designed in accordance with
the standard installation rules recognized by the applica-
ble Listing or Approval agency (e.g., UL Listing is based
on NFPA 13 requirements).
The Stealth S110 (SIN S3200) Sprinklers are approved
by Factory Mutual Research Corporation as
standard re-
sponse
sprinklers for use in Hazard Occupancies up to
and including Ordinary, Group II. The Ordinary Hazard Oc-
cupancy approval is limited to use in wet pipe systems
and preaction systems qualifying as wet pipe systems.
The Stealth S110 (SIN S3200) is approved by the Loss
Prevention Council (LPC) in accordance with LPC Techni-
cal Bulletin TB20. As indicated in Table TB20.T3 of TB20,
the thermal sensitivity of concealed sprinklers is unrated
by the LPC. However, as recommended by Footnote (1)
to Table TB20.3.1, the 3 mm bulb sprinkler assembly
used within the Stealth S110 meets the Quick Response
thermal sensitivity requirements of ISO 6182/1.
INSTALLATION
The Stealth S110 must be installed in accordance with
the following instructions:
NOTES
Do not install any bulb type sprinkler if the bulb is
cracked or there is a loss of liquid from the bulb. With the
sprinkler held horizontally, a small air bubble should be
present. The diameter of the air bubble is approximately
1/16 inch (1,6 mm) for the 135°F/57°C to 3/32 inch (2,4
mm) for the 200°F/93°C temperature ratings.
Use only the #2111 Sprinkler Wrench for installation of
the Stealth S110. Apply the #2111 Sprinkler Wrench as
shown in Figure 2.
Do not attempt to compensate for insufficient adjustment
in the Sprinkler Assembly by under- or over-tightening
the Sprinkler/Mounting Cup Assembly. Readjust the posi-
tion of the sprinkler fitting to suit.
A leak tight 1/2 inch NPT sprinkler joint should be ob-
tained with a torque of 7 to 14 ft.lbs. (9,5 to 19,0 Nm). A
maximum of 21 ft.lbs. (28.5 Nm) of torque is to be used to
install sprinklers. Higher levels of torque may distort the
sprinkler inlet with consequent leakage or impairment of
the sprinkler.
1. The sprinkler must only be installed in the pendent posi-
tion and with the centerline of the sprinkler perpendicu-
lar to the mounting surface.
2. Remove the Protective Cap.
3. With pipe thread sealant applied to the pipe threads,
and using the #2111 Wrench positioned as shown in Fig-
ure 2, install and tighten the Sprinkler/Mounting Cup As-
sembly into the fitting. The #2111 will except a 1-1/16
inch hex socket or a 1/2 inch ratchet drive.
4. Refer to Figure 3 and replace the Protective Cap by
pushing it upwards until it bottoms out against the
Mounting Cup. The Protective Cap helps prevent dam-
age to the Deflector and Arms during ceiling installation
and/or during application of the finish coating of the ceil-
ing. It may also be used to locate the center of the clear-
