Step 1
Press and hold button for 2 s (connect TEACH line to "+").
Step 2
After 2 s the sensor changes into the teach mode and first filling state is taught.
Release the button (disconnect TEACH line from "+").
Step 3
Wait at least 2 s to teach the second filling level. Press button (or connect TEACH line to "+“) and the second
filling state is taught. This may not take more than 2 s. After a successful teach-in, the sensor returns to its RUN
mode and the values just taught are stored.
Failed TEACH procedure
If the sensor is not capable of adjusting to the second filling level after completing the TEACH procedure (max.
2 s), the green and yellow LEDs flash alternately to indicate the failure. After 3 s the sensor returns to step 2. In
order to return to the RUN mode and to cancel the TEACH mode press the button for more than 5 s (connect
TEACH line to "+“); the values taught will not be saved. After cancelling the TEACH-mode it is possible to
change the operating mode and start a new TEACH procedure.

Step 1
Press push button for 5 s (connect TEACH line to "+“ ) and hold. (Prior to going into the PARAMETER mode, the
sensor temporarily goes into the TEACH mode).
Step 2
After 5 s the sensor is in the PARAMETER mode. By pressing and releasing the push button (connect to and
disconnect TEACH line from "+“) you will toggle between the two operating modes, i.e. the echo and the
reverberation mode. The PARAMETER mode is quit by pressing the button (connect TEACH line to "+“) for more
than 5 s. The sensor retains the operating mode last selected. Should operation not be possible after changing
the operating mode, this will be indicated by quick alternate flashing of the LED (see below). Change mode and
re-teach filling states.

TEACH-IN of Liquid Levels
In order to detect filling states reliably, the
levelprox
sensor must be adjusted to the specific mounting conditions, such as the wall thickness and
dimensions. For this, the sensor has to learn to differentiate between two different filling states. In the non-actuated state, the liquid level must be at
least 5 cm below and in the actuated state at least 3 cm above the sensor centre when presenting the two different conditions. The sensor
automatically carries out the necessary adjustments (programming the respective filing states) on request.
The order in which the different liquid levels are presented is not of importance. If the sensor is removed and re-mounted, or if the operating mode is
changed, repeated teach-in is necessary. This is also recommended when re-mounting the sensor in the same position. The TEACH procedure
(programming the filling states) is initiated by connecting the teach line to "+". The TEACH procedure can be facilitated by using the teach adapter
VB2-SP1 which is plugged between the sensor and the connection cable. The TEACH procedure can then be carried out via the push button. After
completing the TEACH procedure, the adapter can be removed.
