Adjust the drill in a horizontal position (seen from the side). Place the calibration test troughs under
the feeding chambers (pictures 17 and 18).
-
lift the locking springs
-
turn the trough down
-
remove the trough
-
push the supporter of the cones forwards – push both ends of the supporter simultaneously
-
place the calibration test troughs under the feeding chambers on the shelves designed for
them
Picture 17. Calibration test trough locked in place. Picture 18. Calibration test trough ready for test.
Rotate the crank a couple of turns in order to fill the feeding chambers properly before the actual
calibration test. Empty the troughs.
Turn the crank as many times as mentioned in the sowing charts at the drill model in question. Weight
the seed delivered to the calibration test troughs. If the crank was turned as many times as
correspond to an are, you get the seed quantity for a hectare by multiplying the result with a hundred.
For small seeds carry out the calibration test so that the turns of the hand wheel correspond to 2-3
ares sowed area which means double or triplicate turns. The weighing result must be multiplied
correspondingly by 50 or 33.
If the result of the calibration test stays under or goes over the aimed value the feeding is decreased
or increased on the hand wheel. E.g. with wheat one notch of the hand wheel corresponds to about
5.5 kg/ha or a whole turn to approx. 55 kg/ha.
After having carried out the calibration test put the troughs back in place.
-
Pull the supporter backwards
-
Place the hooks of the calibration test through under the supporter of the cones
-
Turn up the calibration test trough by using the hooks of the troughs as hinges. While
turning the supporter is to be in its rearmost position
-
Push the upper edge of the trough under locking springs. The springs lock the trough and
keep the cones in place.
Keep the crank in a good place, e.g. on the sieve.
