Stack the first load of firewood in the fireplace according to
the instructions. Move the air control lever to the
‘combustion’ position (

When needed, open the by-pass damper (if installed) at the
ignition stage and when adding wood. Close according to
the instructions.
When adding more wood, stack the load according to the instructions. Please note the secondary air gap indicated in the picture.
Move the air control lever to the ‘ignition and embers’
position (

Move the embers away from the edges of the firebox and
onto the grate.
Move the air control lever to the closed position

Close the flue damper (if installed).
Move the air control lever to the ‘ignition and embers’
position (

Open the flue damper (if installed).
Lift the grate up and with a handle and check the ash box.
Clean the grate.
