4. Inspection immediately following first startup after installation or maintenance.
In addition to the preceding points, check the following points immediately following first startup after
installation or maintenance.
a. Is the direction of rotation correct?
b. Is the maximum current within the values indicated on the nameplate?
c. Is there any abnormal vibration or noise?
d. Is the start-up frequency appropriate?
e. Is there any shock or impact load?
5. Start-up frequency
Take the motor inertia, heat generation, etc. into account when setting the allowable start-up frequency.
Always use the unit within the allowable start-up frequency.
9.5.2. Brake construction
Brake torque will decrease when the gap is at its limit. Inspect and replace the brake as necessary every year
or every one million rotations, whichever comes first.
As the motor specifications for ZCA25, ZCA35 and ZCA45 are different, maintenance methods and standards
should be conducted as per the accompanying motor (hypoid motor) operator’s manual.
The gap on the ZCA25 (hypoid motor mini series) cannot be adjusted. When the gap has reached its limit, the
brake has also reached its life and cannot be used.
9.6. Lubrication
Use grease to lubricate the reducer area on the motor (hypoid motor mini series and hypoid motor series). The
ZCA is shipped from the factory already greased with the prescribed amount and can be used as is.
9.7. Motor troubleshooting guide
Refer to the following troubleshooting guide and implement the appropriate solution should any motor trouble
occur. Refer to Chapter 6 for the ZCA troubleshooting guide.
