NOTE: If there is not an altitude bug set in the G5, the autopilot 

will  only  enter  EXT  HDG  mode  and  the  vertical  axis  will  stay  fully 

controlled at the autopilot.  To engage EXT ALT mode, set an altitude 

bug on the G5, press and release 

MODE

 to leave EXT HDG mode and 

then press and release 

MODE

 again to enter both EXT HDG and EXT 

ALT modes. 

 

Note:
